Badgerland Financial’s recent #LoveMyLand social media campaign raised more than $7,000 for Second Harvest Foodbank and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, resulting in a total of 35,005 meals to be shared with local foodbanks across the cooperative’s 33-county southern Wisconsin territory.
The #LoveMyLand campaign was a three-month photo contest in which Badgerland Financial asked its social media followers to submit photos of life and landscapes in rural Wisconsin via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #LoveMyLand. For each photo shared, Badgerland Financial pledged $1 to Second Harvest Foodbank and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, and increased their donation to $5 per photo during the month of September in honor of Hunger Action Month. Nearly 500 photo entries were received.
“We were so overwhelmed with the positive response and generosity displayed by our social media followers to benefit local foodbanks and families in southern Wisconsin," said Rochelle Schnadt, a marketing specialist at Badgerland Financial.
